AGNĖ BUČMYTĖ - LANDSCAPES OF RETURN

Breathing through painting – this is how one could describe the essence of artist Agnė Bučmytė’s being. After spending thirteen years in the United Kingdom, Agnė returned to Lithuania over a year ago, and her creative energy seemed to explode. This exhibition was born as an inner manifesto of returning to her homeland after 13 years of emigration. It is a long journey’s diary: from bidding farewell to her childhood home to rediscovering herself upon returning to familiar yet newly experienced spaces.

LANDSCAPES OF RETURN is an exhibition of twenty paintings. Fluid, delicate lines and a bold harmony of colors reflect Agnė’s mastery and confidence in her art. The artist invites viewers to immerse themselves in paintings where earth, sky, and water – the fundamental elements of nature – merge into unity, expressing the depth of human emotions and experiences. In these surrealist works, natural motifs become a bridge between the inner world and the outer reality, reflecting not only physical but also emotional landscapes.

Water breathes movement and reflections, the sky speaks of freedom and boundlessness, while the earth reminds us of our roots, strength, and connection to our homeland. These elements intertwine into a harmonious whole, inviting the viewer to experience a profound emotional dialogue.
